Description
Koen van Hove discovered that the rsync client incorrectly validated filenames returned by servers. If a user or automated system were tricked into connecting to a malicious server, a remote attacker could use this issue to write arbitrary files, and possibly excalate privileges. Update Instructions: Run `sudo pro fix USN-5921-1` to fix the vulnerability. The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: rsync – 3.1.3-8ubuntu0.5 No subscription required

Mitigation
Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below.
The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:
- Bionic Stemcells
- Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.181 or greater
- All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
- cflinuxfs3
- Upgrade all versions to 0.355.0 or greater
- cflinuxfs4
- Upgrade all versions to 0.71.0 or greater
- Jammy Stemcells
- Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.93 or greater
- All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
- CF Deployment
- Upgrade all versions to 27.0.0 or greater, upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.181 or greater, and upgrade Jammy Stemcells to 1.93 or greater
