Description
USN-5638-1 fixed a vulnerability in Expat. This update provides the corresponding updates for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Original advisory details: Rhodri James discovered that Expat incorrectly handled memory when processing certain malformed XML files. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a crash or execute arbitrary code. Update Instructions: Run `sudo pro fix USN-5638-2` to fix the vulnerability. The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: expat – 2.2.5-3ubuntu0.8 libexpat1-dev – 2.2.5-3ubuntu0.8 libexpat1 – 2.2.5-3ubuntu0.8 No subscription required

Mitigation
Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below. The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:
- Bionic Stemcells
- Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.150 or greater
- All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
- cflinuxfs3
- Upgrade all versions to 0.335.0 or greater
- Jammy Stemcells
- Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.55 or greater
- All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
- CF Deployment
- Upgrade all versions to 23.3.0 or greater, upgrade Jammy Stemcells to 1.55 or greater, and upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.150 or greater
