Description
Shinji Sato discovered that libxml2 incorrectly handled certain XML files. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code. This issue only affected Ubuntu 14.04 ESM, and Ubuntu 16.04 ESM. (CVE-2022-23308) It was discovered that libxml2 incorrectly handled certain XML files. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a crash or execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2022-29824) Update Instructions: Run `sudo ua fix USN-5422-1` to fix the vulnerability. Mitigation
Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below. The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:
- Bionic Stemcells
- Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.84 or greater
- All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
- cflinuxfs3
- Upgrade all versions to 0.298.0 or greater
- CF Deployment
- Upgrade all versions to 21.0.0 or greater, upgrade Xenial Stemcells to 621.244 or greater, and upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.84 or greater
