Description
Dario Weisser discovered that curl incorrectly handled long FTP server command replies. If a user or automated system were tricked into connecting to a malicious FTP server, a remote attacker could use this issue to cause curl to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code. This issue only affected Ubuntu 17.10 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. (CVE-2018-1000300)
Max Dymond discovered that curl incorrectly handled certain RTSP responses. If a user or automated system were tricked into connecting to a malicious server, a remote attacker could use this issue to cause curl to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly obtain sensitive information. (CVE-2018-1000301)

- Cloud Foundry BOSH stemcells are vulnerable, including:
- 3363.x versions prior to 3363.62
- 3421.x versions prior to 3421.60
- 3445.x versions prior to 3445.46
- 3468.x versions prior to 3468.44
- 3541.x versions prior to 3541.26
- 3586.x versions prior to 3586.16
- All other stemcells not listed.
- All versions of Cloud Foundry cflinuxfs2 prior to 1.208.0
Mitigation
OSS users are strongly encouraged to follow one of the mitigations below:
- The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following BOSH stemcells:
- Upgrade 3363.x versions to 3363.62
- Upgrade 3421.x versions to 3421.60
- Upgrade 3445.x versions to 3445.46
- Upgrade 3468.x versions to 3468.44
- Upgrade 3541.x versions to 3541.26
- Upgrade 3586.x versions to 3586.16
- All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
- The Cloud Foundry project recommends that Cloud Foundry deployments run with cflinuxfs2 version 1.208.0 or later.
