Track will demonstrate the use of Node.js in full stack development and rapid deployment on Cloud Foundry
SAN FRANCISCO — February 13, 2017 — Cloud Foundry Foundation, home of the industry-standard platform for cloud applications, today announced IBM (NYSE: IBM) will host a Node.js track at the Cloud Foundry Summit Silicon Valley. IBM is also a Cloud Foundry Summit Silicon Valley Platinum sponsor.
Cloud Foundry Summit Silicon Valley will take place June 13-15 in Santa Clara, California and is the premier event for enterprise application developers. The event will focus on microservices and continuous delivery in all languages and frameworks. As such, organizers are seeking speaking proposals on best practices and tips implementing microservices in cloud environments using various languages including Java, Javascript, Ruby, Node.js and Golang as well as Cloud Foundry user stories from the developer perspective. The community is encouraged to submit a proposal by the deadline of February 17.
“Node.js has become one of the fastest growing run-time environments for creating a broad variety of tools and applications. With over 7.5 million developers using Node.js daily, and a community that has more than doubled in size the last two years straight, global organizations of all sizes, including the newest start-ups, have recognized the the value of the stability and support that the Node.js Foundation provides, said Todd Moore, IBM VP Open Technology. “We’re excited to show why Cloud Foundry is the next step on the Node.js technology path for creating and deploying high-performance web applications.”
Attendees will join other developers and CIOs to gain first-hand access to Cloud Foundry roadmaps, training and tutorials, and to see how others are using Cloud Foundry to support continuous innovation and application portability. Keynote speakers and full conference schedules will be announced this Spring.
This year, more than 3,000 attendees are expected to attend. Last year’s event showcased information from innovators and technical leaders at companies including Allstate, Comcast, Volkswagen and others. The Summit will host several breakout sessions including those that focus on Cloud Foundry core updates from project leads, Cloud Foundry experiments and developer community tracks, which will be named in the coming weeks.
“With a strong emphasis on languages, microservices and agile development best practices for the cloud, Summit Silicon Valley is the premier event for developers,” said Abby Kearns, Executive Director, Cloud Foundry Foundation. “Given Node’s popularity with developers, we’re thrilled IBM is taking the lead to drive this track and show how developers can marry Node and Cloud Foundry to create new and game-changing solutions for their organizations.”
