On the 9th of October SAP participated in the Cloud Foundry Day event demonstrating their commitment to the open-source community and their dedication to driving innovation in the Cloud Foundry space.
The Cloud Foundry Day Europe event with the Linux Foundation hosting a gathering of Cloud Foundry maintainers and platform users to discuss all things Cloud Foundry, was a resounding success. During the event several significant contributions were presented that underscored the growth and innovation within the Cloud Foundry community.
One of the most noteworthy developments in the Cloud Foundry ecosystem is the seamless integration of Cloud Native Buildpacks (CNBs) into the platform, which empowers developers to leverage CNBs within the well-established “cf push” experience. Further details about the CNBs-integration will be elaborated in an upcoming blog post.
Additionally, the Korifi project, which aims at creating a next-generation platform-as-a-service (PaaS) by integrating the Cloud Foundry experience with Kubernetes, provided updates and unveiled its plans for the future. The Korifi project enables a Kubernetes (K8s) cluster, operated by K8s experts, to be equipped with an interface that allows software developers to deploy workloads without directly dealing with the complexities of K8s. This initiative is poised to deliver enhanced flexibility and scalability for cloud-native applications, generating excitement and substantial interest in its development.
The contributions highlighted here demonstrate the innovative spirit of the CF community, whose primary objectives are to deliver an intuitive, user-friendly, and efficient application platform. The CF community embraces the philosophy that collective intelligence and diverse perspectives drive significant advancements and create more resilient solutions. We warmly invite everyone to engage with the CF community, contribute to this thriving ecosystem and to explore the CF community repository.
The event was an overall success. For those who missed any sessions, recordings are already available on the Cloud Foundry YouTube channel.
