Bionic BOSH Stemcells are officially GA
SAP announced the general availability of the new BOSH stemcell to the Cloud Foundry community earlier this year. Previously, the stemcell was created, maintained, and released by a different company. As this company decided to discontinue its work on the stemcells, SAP stood up to continue supporting the community with our new stemcell offering and delivering security updates to thousands of VMs periodically. Improving the performance of Cloud Foundry API calls
Our engineering team uncovered several long-running Cloud Foundry API calls. A performance test project was initiated to reproduce and fix those issues under special conditions such as having a high number of organizations, spaces, and applications. The team plans to measure the performance of selected Cloud Foundry API calls over time for regression testing and continuous improvements.
Strengthen security access by offering fine-grained access control
Authorization levels determine the extent of system rights a user has access to. Defining a more granular level of authorization minimizes the security risk of unauthorized access to sensitive information. We are in the process to implement a new SpaceApplicationSupporter role. This role allows for checking logs, restarting, and scaling an application but prevents changing application code, deleting services, or accessing service credentials accidentally.
