Description

John Ouyang discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled decrypting SM2 data. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause applications using OpenSSL to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly change application behaviour. (CVE-2021-3711)

Ingo Schwarze discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled certain ASN.1 strings. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause OpenSSL to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly obtain sensitive information. (CVE-2021-3712)

    • 1.x versions prior to 1.25

Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below. The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

  • Bionic Stemcells
    • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.25 or greater
    • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
  • cflinuxfs3
    • Upgrade all versions to 0.253.0 or greater
  • CF Deployment
    • Upgrade all versions to 16.23.0 or greater
