Seeking Track Co-Chair Nominations for 2019 Cloud Foundry Europe Summit

Deadline to Nominate Co-Chairs is Tuesday May 7th

Our community spent a wonderful week in Philadelphia at Cloud Foundry Summit North America earlier this month. We consistently receive positive feedback on the event’s content quality, and that is possible in large part to the diligent work of our track co-chairs.

We are now seeking track co-chair nominations for Cloud Foundry Summit Europe which will be hosted in The Hague, The Netherlands, from September 11-12, 2019. You can nominate yourself or a peer from the community to one or multiple tracks. Please note that the deadline to send nominations is Tuesday, May 7 at 11:59pm PST.

We have received some questions from the community about track co-chair nomination process which we have attempted to answer below, but please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if the below does not answer your question.

What is a track co-chair?

The Cloud Foundry Foundation seeks track co-chairs for each track at Cloud Foundry Summit. Each co-chair will review the speaking proposal submitted to their specific track and select the talks with highest value for attendees, thereby helping shape the content that makes Cloud Foundry Summit a successful event.

What are the benefits of being a co-chair?

The co-chairs may choose to be the emcees (master of ceremonies) of the tracks and may consider:

  • Introducing speakers to attendees in the room
  • Running interference during Q&A to ensure a proper end time
  • Thanking the speaker after the session

What is the time commitment to be a co-chair?

Around 10-20 hours a month two months prior to Cloud Foundry Summit Europe in The Hague in September 2019.

As a co-chair, can I submit a speaking proposal to other tracks or the track I’m chairing?

Yes. The proposals you submit to other tracks are treated the same way as any other submission. If you submit a proposal to a track you are chairing, the other co-chairs get to vote on your proposal.

How are the co-chairs selected?

Community members get to vote to elect co-chairs. The Foundation staff counts votes to select the final co-chairs for each track, keeping in mind employer diversity, co-chair willingness and making sure each individual is not a co-chair on more than one track.

When will voting happen?

Wednesday, May 8 until Monday, May 13.

When will voting close?

Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11:59PM

When will the co-chairs be notified?

Tuesday, May 14, 2019
